~~Give Me a Thought Sometime~~
Notes
- Music and lyrics written March 2009.
- Recording information:
- Recorded 3/9/09; Live guitar and vocal track, later vocal overdubs
- Equipment: Ibanez acoustic guitar, Shure microphone
- Recorded on Korg PXR4, mixed with N-track studio
- Trivia:
- One of three stylistically similar songs written and recorded in a single week, the other two being 'Lake Michigan Midnite' and 'Hover O'er Me.'
- This song and 'Lake Michigan Midnite' are considered by Adam B. to be the most "autobiographical" Narpar songs, as they describe very specific actual events.
- Like 'Lake Michigan Midnite,' this song also includes a reference to a Springsteen song, this time 'Thunder Road.' The line "I want to sit on the porch as that screen door slams" references Springsteen's lines "The screen door slams, Mary's dress waves; Like a vision she dances across across the porch as the radio plays"

Lyrics
Passed her at a streetlight
Or something, I don't know
Now she's in my head again
"Welcome back," I say, "where'd we leave off?"
And the cycle begins anew
Could you give me a thought sometime?
I want to know you again, as perhaps once before
I want to sit on the porch as the screen door slams
And play acoustical till ev'ry twinkling light
In that starry night shines down
Were we ever so close?
Seems a mem'ry distant
Young and stupid, more than a little screwed up
But there's a feeling I recall
Gone unmatched since you left my life
So give me a thought sometime
I'd like to know you again, as perhaps once before
I want to sit on the porch as that screen door slams
And play acoustical till ev'ry twinkling light
In our starry night shines down
As I haven't really let go
And I can't really let go
Until we're given a chance
Live History
[never played]
